Laila Robins was born in Riga, Latvia and emigrated to the US in 1950. Ms. Robins is a supporting member of ALMA working on membership and public relations.
Ms. Robins has been a dedicated and tireless supporter of various Latvian cultural organizations and individual young artists. In recognition of her work and leadership, the Latvian Government awarded her the Three Star Medal in 2007. It was presented to her by the President of Latvia.
Ms. Robins was trained in classical ballet and danced for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo company. For many years she has managed a private twentieth century art collection.
She lives and works in New York City.
